Lilith – article on bullying

In my last year of primary I was so excited to go to “big school”. I was super excited that the high
school I was going to had a proper canteen , as the food at primary school was horrid. But by the
end of my first year at the new school I found myself feeling more and more depressed. All that
mattered in the eyes of the other girls was how you looked, how you dressed and being a disruptive
as possible in class. On a school trip to France one girl was laughing at my boots and taking pictures
with her phone then putting them on Instagram. On another occasion the girls dropped a breath
mint on the floor then forced my friend to pick it up and eat it, as they said she had bad breath. She
didn’t have bad breath and when I told these girls to leave my friend alone this just made matters
worse. I tried to avoid these girls , but it was pretty much impossible and every day I just felt worse
and worse as the snide comments never let up. Most of the songs I was writing at the time were
pretty much about how I hated these girls. I started cut down on sugary snacks and exercise more. I
might not be able to make them like me but at least I could be slimmer and fitter than them. Before I
knew it things had got out of hand, I was eating about 700 calories a day and exercising 2 hours a
day. I thought I was getting super fit but actually I was starving and my body was shutting down. I
got more and more sad and unable to cope with the girls at school as I got weaker. Luckily my
mum managed to get me into an eating disorder clinic and I was rushed to hospital where I was put
on a heart monitor and had daily blood tests as I had damaged my heart and kidneys. I was off
school for 3 months while I recovered. Now I am a healthy weight, and have moved class. I’m in a
much nicer class now. I’m actually enjoying school and food again. My advice to anyone who is
being bullied is tell your parents, get them to go into school and talk to the head of year. If
necessary move to a different school. Remember bullies are usually losers who can only make
themselves feel/look good by picking on other people.

Keep on Dreaming

I remember when I was little and would read books of different places all over the book. I would dream of someday actually arriving at that location. I would image, eating their cuisine and even dancing with them in different parades. Sometimes with all the activities I dreamt about, I would be exhausted.

But I shared this, just to say, KEEP ON DREAMING!! In Genesis 38: Joseph had a dream that he would rule over his family and it came to pass. No matter how hard they tried to suppress him, he still rose to rule over them. KEEP ON DREAMING!!

There going to be people in the world that is going to try to suppress you but hold faithful to God unchanging hand. God will ensure ALL your dreams come true.

A Message from Pastor Dr. Andrew Gibson

In order to change your life you must first change your mind. The enemy uses your mind as a prison for your past hurts. He uses rejections, low self-esteem, suicide and most of all doubt and fear to conquer your future. It’s Imperative to have the mind of Christ, the bible declares “let this mind be in you, which is also in Christ Jesus. For it is only with the mind of Christ, that one can over power the enemy and achieve greatness!

Too many of us serve a God that we don’t know.  We only heard about him or we’ve read in the Bible about Him.  We’ve never claim to have encountered His presence.  We can’t claim that we’ve ever felt His touch nor the comfort of His embrace.  The things we look for in Him is an experience but, God is magnificent in His glory. He’s awesome in His grace. His heartbeat is palpable.

Reverend Michael Fulton Jones, Sr. has a great enthusiasm for God's Word and people. His commitment is exemplified through service and by living the principle based on "the least of these." At the heart of this principle is the belief that God can take the life of those counted out, the oppressed, the overlooked and by His grace change lives and raise a standard allowing them to walk in a new way of life.

Dear Victim

I am a survivor of Domestic Violence. I know that God loves you and He wants only what is best for you. You are so unique and beautiful to God. He wants you to know that this is not love. When you are ready to leave your abuser, God will be waiting for you with opening arms. Abuse is not a form of love but of hate. The Bible says in John 3: 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. He gave His life for you! He is such a lovely Father. Please Pray to God and watch what He will do for your life. I know its uneasy to leave and you feel trapped, but my God will find a way of your escape. He cares for You.

God's Daily Word

The Gift of True Forgiveness

It’s hard to believe there are only a few more days until Christmas. Yes, as the song says: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” It really is wonderful! We are flooded with Christmas music, Christmas lights, and lots of Christmas “activities.” And although the season contains many distractions which attempt to pull us away, we generally make time to gather with family and friends and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

But many will find this time of year to be very painful. The memories of past hurt, which may remain hidden throughout the year, are now driven to the surface. Many are required to face someone who has caused them pain, or face the memory of a past Christmas which brings the person, and pain, back into view.

Obviously, this is not the turmoil which God intends for our life…especially not as we celebrate the birth of His Son.

Ephesians 4:32
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

We cannot properly celebrate the birth of Jesus without reflecting on why He was born. Through His life He offered us a message of eternal hope, and through His death on the cross He offered us the complete forgiveness of sin. With this single act of unbelievable love, Jesus removed the sin which would otherwise keep us eternally separated from our Heavenly Father. This is the manner in which we are to love and forgive others.

Jesus told a parable about a servant who had an enormous debt canceled: “The servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go” (Matthew 18:26-27). But when the servant went away, he refused to cancel the relatively minor debt a fellow servant owed him; “Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt” (Matthew 18:30).

Jesus used this parable to show that unless we completely forgive others from deep within our heart, we have somehow failed to understand the forgiveness we have already received; “Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?” (Matthew 18:33). Any sin which others may commit against us is small when viewed in light of the many sins we have committed against God! We have been completely forgiven of sooooo much!!

During this most wonderful time of the year, let’s reflect on the awesome gift we have been given through our Savior. Then, let’s give to others as we have already received. Let’s love and give the gift of true forgiveness.

Have a Christ Centered Day!
