The Water of Uncertainty

The greatest challenge for the human mind is how to have unwavering belief in that which cannot be proven. As humans we seek to find the empirical evidence in everything. What we fail to realize is that everything we know can be questioned with the same logic.

Men

Ye Have Not, Because Ye Ask Not

Many of our Lords Words have been portrayed by man as clichés and superficial, one dimensional meanings. In the Christian family, we regurgitate most of what we've heard without an intimate, detailed study of that particular thing. If it rolls off the tongue well, then it must be supreme Truth and the sanctuary goes wild (in my sports announcers’ voice).

Feature Artist Damion Murrill

Damion Murrill: A Man After God’s Own Heart By Andrea R. Williams

When I was born, I had a heart murmur,” recalls Damion. “Many people are born with heart murmurs, but don’t have any problems. But when I was about 10 years old, I had issues. I ended up having a procedure done and after that, the doctors said that I probably wouldn’t be able to keep up with the other kids,” he shares. He was told his growth would be stunted and that he would experience life-long effects. Now, the 6 ft. 3 in. producer and musician, and the tallest member of his family, chuckles at the prognosis. He understood even then that God was in control.

Years later, he was awakened by a strong, fast and irregular heartbeat. Knowing something serious was happening, he drove himself to the hospital. Entering the emergency room, he was understandably anxious. As the nurse checked his heart rate, she looked up at him with alarm on her face, an expression she immediately caught. She then asked him how he was feeling and he said he was fine. At the time, his heart was racing at 180 beats per minute, extremely high for someone not doing any sort of physical activity. Once seen by a doctor, he was informed that he is at a high probability for a stroke. After days at the hospital and doses of meds, his heart still was not in proper rhythm.
“The doctor then tells me, ‘If your heart doesn’t come back into rhythm, we’ll have to give you an electric shock’,” says Damion. “The doctor then walks out of the room and in less than five minutes, my heart mysteriously clicks back into rhythm. I knew it was God.” Tests continued as physicians search to find out the cause of the arrhythmia. Once the tests were done, the doctors gave Damion the grim news. “Damion,” said the doctor, “you have a hole in your heart. We need to do open heart surgery”.

Just losing his mother the previous year, the family was on pins and needles at hearing the prognosis, but still held on to their faith. At finding out the news, Damion broke down initially, but his faith kicked in and he prepped for the surgery, scheduled for two months later. While waiting for surgery, God began to pour songs into him. Some songs included music with lyrics and some songs were just melodies. One song he was given was called “The Will of God”. The song helped him to accept whatever God had planned for his life, even if this life was to end. That acceptance gave him a peace as he entered the operating room.
As he was being wheeled into the room, his brother requested that Damion’s music be played while he was being operated on. Reluctantly, they agreed and Gospel music wafted through the operating room while its songwriter underwent open heart surgery. One of the songs played was “Don’t Let Me Fall”. It’s a riveting song, a musical prayer to God asking for His hand. It was something that Damion desperately needed at that moment in time. Some may be familiar with the song, initially included on The Murrills’ debut CD, but re-recorded on his debut CD, called Take A Stand with his group called Siloam.

As Damion lay on the operating table, doctors were startled to find not just one hole in his heart, but several. Miraculously, Damion had not experienced any effects from the holes, but doctors knew then that their work was cut out for them. Even in the midst of the terrible discovery, the doctors were mystified that there had been absolutely no degeneration of his heart since he was a child. The physicians sewed up the holes and all was well, at least that’s what Damion was hoping for. His trial did not end there, however. For some reason, internal bleeding began and he had to go back into surgery so surgeons could stop the bleeding.
From that point on, his recovery was amazing. As a matter of fact, one month after having open heart surgery, he was on stage singing with Donald Lawrence & The Tri-City Singers, a group he had been a member of for years. Damion Murrill credits God with his complete and total healing. He lives a normal life and has absolutely no physical limitations. Now his mission is to let people know about this God that he serves, a God who heals, delivers and sets free.
His testimony is in his music and Take A Stand contains songs straight from the heart of Damion Murrill. His lead single, “Kingdom Come”, has been inspiring believers on Gospel radio nationwide. The track reminds listeners that they can call things down from Heaven to earth. It’s uplifting and declarative in nature. Other songs like the electric “Dancing In The Fire”, the Easter-themed “He Rose” and the worshipful “Tell The World” showcase the songwriting and production talents of Damion. George Huff makes a guest appearance on the mellow, but inspirational “I Believe” and LeJuene Thompson lends her vocals to the hyperactive track, “Show Them”. The quartet-inspired “Don’t Let Me Fall” placed in the Top 75 of the Billboard Top Gospel Songs Charts. Take A Stand contains a musical collage of uplifting and God-centered Gospel music.

The Gospel music industry and fans have been blessed by the release. Damion Murrill & Siloam won three 2015 SFGMA Awards for Best Gospel Contemporary Group, Best Gospel Choir, and Best Gospel Song for “Take A Stand”. The ensemble won two 2016 Rhythm of Gospel Awards: Contemporary Group/Ensemble Of The Year and Product Packaging Of The Year. The group was nominated for a 6th Annual Gospel Blue M.I.C. Achievement Award for Group/Duo of the Year. Murrill owns Divinity Music Studios in Wilmington, NC. The ensemble has been featured on TBN, NBC, FOX, ABC, Cornerstone TV, The Christian Television Network, Celebrate Live and The Dorinda Show on TCT-TV and Rejoice In The Word on The Word Network. Clearly, Damion Murrill is walking in his calling and fans of Gospel music are the better for it. But it almost didn’t happen.

“I am so grateful to God for healing me,” shares Damion Murrill. “Now I am ready to take the songs God gave me to help inspire and heal others. I know that’s what He’s called me to do.”

www.thespinawards.com

Where are you from?
I'm from Wharton, Texas or least that is where I was born but I've lived primarily in California and then after that Georgia and little bit of Texas.

Tell us about your ministry?
My ministry is my life and my life is my ministry. I use the resources, talents, skills and abilities that the Lord has given me to lift Him up, glorify Him in every aspect of my life. Sometimes I miss the mark but that is my goal and my desire. So I'm His servant and I work for Him as a pastor, recording artist, community volunteer, mom, daughter, friend and so on.

What inspires you to sing?
My inspiration to sing comes from the melodies in my heart and in my head that I believe the Lord gives me. I'm just crazy enough to believe that the Lord gave them to me to share, so I do, as many places as I can.

What is some advice you would give to others who have issues with depression?
Just about one can become depressed at some point. Even Moses, Elijah and Jonah had times of when they were in anguish. One thing and the first thing is to cast your cares in prayer up to our Heavenly Father and then put feet to those prayers by not nurturing and feeding those bad feelings/thoughts by reliving or revisiting memories of things that bring you down. Instead turn your thoughts towards things that encourage you.

How do you feel in knowing that you are walking in the purpose of God?
When we walk in His Purpose then we walk in purpose with fire. I call it "purpose fire". When we have purpose fire stuff moves out of the way so that we can do the Lord's bidding. After all, we are on assignment for the Lord and He will make the path straight for our journey.

What does the newness of God mean to you?
Not sure about that one but the newness of life in the Lord means to me that we now wear the Righteousness of Christ and no longer indebted to pay the cost of sin which is death because of His death on the cross. We we receive Him as I Savior we lay down our lives and will for His Will which causes us to resemble Him in our daily lives. We get new aspirations and desires and those are not in conformity to the world system of beliefs.

Who writes your songs?
Well, that would be me. I write all my lyrics and sometimes my music. Just depends.

How important is a prayer life to you?
Prayer is my lifeline to my Creator. It is my necessary air, water and food, It helps to keep me connected.

Can you describe the power of prayer?
Prayer is powerful, simply because it gives us an authorized audience in front of GOD, Who has promised to answer us according to His Will! GOD the Maker and Owner of everything invites us to pray and to pray without ceasing so that He cannot NOT withhold any good thing form us. Amazing!

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
The greatest accomplishment is coming into the knowledge of this Living GOD Who is Love and being formed in Him to love Him first, last and best and others as myself. Amazing, yes! And really I can't take credit for that because He called me and first loved me. Being able to truly forgive is pretty amazing as well. I mean really being trampled and hurt and still love is....well, you guessed it amazing. My very best accomplishments all have roots in what GOD has caused or allowed me to be in Him. I am actually really stultified at how different my life is since I turned it over to the Lord.

Are you having fun in the Lord please explain?
I have lots of joy in the Lord. Even in trying times, I have joy! Sometimes it's tough for sure but I still have joy which exercises itself out even during rough stuff. I am thankful to be a servant of the Most High GOD and sometimes that does include joyful fun times.

What kind of legacy would you like to leave behind?
The legacy that I would like to leave behind is "love". I heard that someone asked a boy who lived in Chicago why he would walk all the way so far to attend the late great D.L. Moody's church. His response was that "because they love a fella over there". I want people to know that I loved them because GOD shed His Love abroad in my heart and gave me something to give to others.

Please tell us more about your new projects?
Ok, sure! I am working on a new project titled "Give Me A heart" that should be released towards the end of the year and by His Grace, I will drop a single in September. Yayee, for us!

How can people reach out to you?
People can reach me at my website, www.appointed.mobi. By tweet at @appointend, meaning Twitter and on Instagram with the handle @appointed,

Based on your experiences, how important your ministry?
I believe that every thing has purpose in GOD'S Sovereign economy! So, I am a cog in that economy which makes my life, which is my ministry very important since I live to bring glory to His Name.

Do you have any closing remarks to those who may not know God?
It is my hope that we all would be found to have saving faith. Faith that works through love with an understanding that faith without works is dead and that grace is a traveler through faith in Christ for every born again believer. The Lord requires holiness and there is a difference between holiness and profaneness and today's Christianity, sadly can be found teaching another doctrine that leads some to believe there is no difference. Unrighteousness cannot inherit the Kingdom. That's the Word.

A Talk With Trish

Who is Trish Standley?
A woman who loves her God, herself, her family and friends and because of that she drives hard after God’s purpose on her life.

Where are you from?
I was born and raised in a small town called Kokomo, Indiana then after high school moved to Atlanta, GA which where I currently reside.
Tell us more about your ministry?
God has graced me with the spiritual gift of encouragement and the talent to sing and write. He has called me to inspire and encourage those who feel as though they are the underdogs and unlovable. My ministry is also to teach ladies how to build their self worth.

What inspires you to write?
I have loved writing since I was a girl. I would keep a journal before I knew what that mean. I love it because it allows me to fully express myself. A lot of time the words get locked in my head verbally but when I write they seem to flow proficiently.

What is it like being young and on fire for the Lord?
Being on fire for the Lord is an ongoing journey and it is definitely the drive and fuel needed to acquire the call. The best way to describe it is as an infant discovering all the magnificent things of life.

What kind of advice can you give to the youth who loves God?
I love to share with the youth that God is not boring and he understands what it is to be young. You can be hip, fly and “in style” and still live a Godly life.

What are some advice would you give to others who have issues with depression?
Depression isn’t an easy ailment to live with; however as a believer in Christ – There is where you must focus your self worth, your life value and purpose everyday in order to maintain perspective. God created you and He never makes a mistake.

Writing is a passion for me because it allows me to be totally myself and while doing that it ignites a fuel within me that will wake me up a lot of times during the night.

God would be the one who inspires me the most because He is the one gives me what to say as well as “ideas”

As stated earlier, without that vital conversation with your Heavenly Father it makes it difficult to maintain the relationship. When it is developed, here is where you experience the “power” in it.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
My greatest accomplishments have been raising my daughter. It makes my heart smile when I hear from the adults in her life such as teachers, principles and hair stylist brag on how respectful she is and how solid she is in her thinking.

I am a believer that relationships are based on what you put into them. This includes our relationship with God. I enjoy my relationship with Him. We have so much fun. When I do or say something crazy – I’ll look up and ask Lord where did I come up with that one? And we laugh.

What kind of legacy would you like to leave behind?
I would like to leave a legacy of drive, love, commitment and class.

Please tell us more about your new projects?

My grandfather and the fact that music makes me happy and I love to make people happy with music. It helps us all to get through our day and because music is Gods universal language that speaks to us all, it is very essential for our every day lives.

Thats an exciting time for the young believer.

First of all, obey your parents for God has giving them charge over your live. Obedience is better than sacrifice; honor your mother and father so your days maybe long upon the earth, Stay focus, stay strong in your conviction in Jesus. Yes I do consider music as a passion. Because to pursue something with all your heart and soul is a consuming fire. It is an anointing and I am anointed so that makes it a passion for me.

What does the newness of God means to you?
Transformation, you don't want to continue living that same life. It's a change from your old way of living, thinking and believing to Gods way of looking at the world by the power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Gods only son. being changed by the renewing of your mind.

Who writes your songs?
Jesus and me and sometimes my wife and kids :-)!

How important is a prayer life to you?
Very important. It is my life line to our savior Jesus Christ. For in prayer we communicate with him directly everyday, by the power of the Holy Ghost. He loves when we commune with him in prayer, not just when we are in need but also when we are worshiping and praising him; Thanking him for all he has done and what he is about to do in our lives. In prayer we gather strength to go through our busy day, to resist the enemy, to keep our mind in perfect peace by keeping our mind stayed on him. In pray we can but satan under our feet and in prayer we can help others who are in need. When we pray for each other God is pleased too, because it promotes unity and love in his body. The word of God said men are to always pray and never faint or give up on pray, because in prayer there is sweet peace and joy divine that you cant ever find any where else. improve your prayer life today. You'll be glad you did!

Who inspires you to sing?
God, my grandfather and the mother of my childhood church. God used one of his man servants (Overseer Williams) to speak life into me as it concern music. He told me that one day I would minister to the world through music because he (God) knew my heart. I have always love music. I never wanted to be just a bench member in the church, I wanted to be active. Watching the older musicians in the church I wanted to be just like them. So I fast and prayed as a little boy for three days and nights and I asked God to anoint me to play music in the church. By the power of God I developed a ear for music. I could play what ever song I heard. I began to play around about the age of eleven or twelve years of age. God answered my prays just like the man of God said. I would play the organ for my grandfather (Rev Hugo C. Middleton) when he sang at church programs. People use to love to hear him sing. I admire him a lot but never sought to pursue singing. Then one day while playing the organ for the youth choir I sang tenor with, the director of the choir (The churchs' Mother Locke) saids to me that you are gifted so that you not only can sing back ground while playing for the choir, but you can also lead songs while playing for them as well. I've been singing every since. so I thank God for his angles of encoragement. These are my inspirations and the reason why I sing today.

Can you describe the power of prayer?
Awesome, powerful, Great, Supernatural, Strength, Encouraging, Uplifting, Necessary!

Do you use music to minister to those who may not know God?
Yes, a lot of people aren't in the church for whatever their reasons are. They need answers to a lot of life's problems and situations they haven't learn to deal with. A lot of them find todays church quit hypocritical to say the lease but they are willing to hear a word of encouragement or up-liftment form a none judgmental or a none combative source of communication that they can glean from. The will buy cds listen to the radio download and steam music on their cellular devices. Music is that source of communication everybody listens to. It is the universal language that people look for answers and entertainment from. So when I write a song that the general public enjoys and with a massage they can relate to, helping them to see that there is hope, there is love, there is peace of mind, there is love unconditional, then I have served or ministered to them through the conduit of music. Now God will draw them unto himself.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
In life, my relationship with our lord and savior Jesus Christ. In music, touching people from around the world in all cultures saved and unsaved with the gift of music. there are a lot of unsaved or un-churched people from around the world has let me know that they where really blessed and sometimes changed from the music God has giving me for the world. So with that being said that is my greatest accomplishments to date. By blessing Gods creations He is pleased with me. So because I seek to please Him he will take care and bless my family has I do His well. But I'm not done yet, I look forward for greater accomplishments in music/ministry to come!

Are you having fun with music?
Yes, Its a blessing for me to be able to do something I enjoy doing. It is a gift God gave me and I thank him for it. Its apart of who I am!

What kind of legacy would you like to leave behind?
To leave a legacy of integrity good will and love toward all men and a professional body of music/ministry work that will be a blessing and a help to people all over the world. A beacon of light that enjoyed the gift of music because God gave it to him to let people know there is hope in Jesus Christ.

Based on your experiences, how important is women in the ministry?
Women are very important in the body of Christ. Even though the order of the body is God - man - woman because God made woman from the rib of man and that she should be mans help mate and God said that this his good, for man should not be alone, we as men (leaders) have fallen short worshiping - praising and taking care of our families as God commanded us to. But Thank God For Man's Help mate! She has stepped in on time to fulfill the promise of our eternal life with Christ by spreading the gospel that Jesus Christ is Risen! She was the first to proclaim that good news when we (men) were to afraid to show our face in public as Christ had taught us to boldly do. God also used mans help mate to carry the word in her womb, not man. In the old and new testaments God used mans help mate women like Ruth, Esther, Sarah, Naomi, Marry mother of Jesus, Mary Magdalene etc... just to name a few. These women had a very important job entrusted to them to make sure that man take his rightful place in the body. They loved God and wanted to please him so much they sought to help man know his rightful place in God. Today God is still using women of faith in Him to help us (men) to get in tune with God! Not religion for religion is not the way to God its through a personal relationship with him through Jesus Christ, then your religion want be in the way of you and The Great I Am! The word of God states that in the last days I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh, so yes God is using women in a great way to fulfill his promise to man and woman. My mother was a leader of men yet she had a covering. Her pastor and Bishop which was a man sent her to pastor and teach men and woman the ways of the Lord. She taught men to return to their rightful place in God so his will may be done as it is written in the Holy scriptures. In short women are ordained to do all the thing that a men are to do for God but never to take a mans place. but to being moved by the love of God in themselves to but him (man) back where he belong. For all have fallen short of the glory of God. God wants man to take responsibility for the things he created him to be. God dose not want man to oppress his help mate nor physically or mentally abuses her put to lift her up and esteem her high as the queen she was made to be for him. when we are together on one accord Gods Kingdom (The Body Of Christ) is complete! Then we are on our way to Glory! See You When You Get There!

Do you have any closing remarks to those who may not know God?
I encourage you to seek the lord today while you yet have a chance. He's only a pray away. All you have to do is confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus died and he rose again on the third day from the grave and that he ever lives in glory and he sat on the right side of the father making intercession for our sin you therefore can be and will be SAVED! Peace unto you all God Bless

WHAT WOULD YOU DO Written by Diamantina Browdy

What would you do differently if you knew the age

In which you would live to, is a question

I ponder inside; would I love more, laugh more,

Even forgive, or stay grumpy, angry and bitter inside

Would I take more chances, more risks, would I pursue my dreams

Without fear, or stay hidden away in my comfort zone

Living moderate and only exist

Would I take that vacation to an exotic resort

Have fun with my family and kids

Would I be more adventurous, more caring and

Understanding, or just stay stuck and

Focused on self being

Would I keep saying I’ll get to it one day for

I’m saving for a rainy day acting as if I’m

My own time keeper, not realizing the end is near

All these things I think of daily

Knowing I need to get ‘em done

Those gifts that the LORD, yes HE gave to me

Before HE calls me home

What Would You Do?

Ms. Royalty

A PRAYER AWAY
Written by: Diamantina Browdy

Although I can’t be near you
You cannot hear my voice
My hugs I used to give to you
Are memories in your thoughts
The way we used to laugh
The times we used to play
Seemed like only yesterday
My how fast times pass
There may be times you cry for me
Even times where you’ll feel down
Just look up to the Heavens above
And know I’m smiling down
When the day becomes too hard to bare
And you wish that you could call
Close your eyes and bow your head
Know that I’m only
A Prayer Away

ALL’S FORGIVEN

Written by: Diamanthina Browdy

I had to learn to forgive self and others
To keep from turning into a cold heart bitch
Being heartless and oh so cold
Reflecting back to you what you done to me
No forgiveness leaves you angry, bitter and
You tend to isolate, asking yourself many
Questions; why
Why the bullshit, drama, lies, cruelty, and deceit
To which I gave you none
My past you can judge me, talk about me,
Ridicule me and shut me out
Its funny how you still live there
I've already moved out
Stronger, wiser, more confident and free
All the pain and strife have come to a cease
And it didn't take death for me to see it
Loved, accepted, approved by the Almighty
Good person I know I am
I am HIS child with all mistakes and shortcomings HE still welcomes me with
Open arms
Blinded, confused, complicated, disheartened
Mistreated and abused; life lessons learned
Many lessons learned this year
Breath still in my body ahhhh you see its fresh
Air meaning yes I'm still here
The grave almost had me but to death
GOD said be still
I've got plans for my daughter, she now
Know my Will; her latter will be greater
Rest assured I'm protecting her from
All harm
So today all's forgiven, I release, no hard
Feelings, I move on
If you there when I make it, from me
Many blessings to you and yours
If not, no problem no worries
I wish you the best of luck

Arthur Roland

Arthur Roland

Gifted Guitarist - Southern Gospel Artist – Human Justice Humanitarian – Man of God

In 2014, Arthur Roland was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame as a member of Lucille Pope and the Pearly Gates. He has been playing and touring for 35 years as a professional gospel artist. He is among the first Gospel groups to record and chart on a White Southern Gospel Music label (Morningstar Records). The 2009 album was entitled "It's all Good." He has also worked hits for artists like the Williams Brothers (God will Deliver), Slim and the Supreme Angels (Separated Right from Wrong), and Lucille Pope and Pearly Gates (Real Christians Stand up; Great Reunion) to name a few. Roland has played and sung on countless other works with artists like the Blind Boys of Alabama, Dorothy Norwood and many others. In 2004, he toured Switzerland and other Countries on "The tribute to Mahalia Jackson tour." He released his first solo project in 2014, "Revival on a Tour Bus," on the Tate Music Group Label, which earned him his first multi selling plat and is still a top seller in Southern Gospel. His sophomore album, "Stepping Out Of Myself,” is slated for release in November 2015.This album is the first project ever all written produced and song on most by Roland, and launched the start up of his own record label, that was always a dream after moving to St Louis, Mo. In 2009 and now back home in Georgia in 2015.
Humble beginnings

When you accept salvation at the early age of six years old and grow up in Bostwick, an Eastern Georgia town with fewer than 400 people, you learn to listen and sometimes you even dream of a world bigger than the one that you were born in. It was at his family’s church, Mt. Vernon Baptist, that he first heard the music of the Old Negro Spirituals sung and grew to love them. But when his parents took him to his first Gospel show and he heard legends like the Gospel Keynotes, the Mighty Clouds of Joy, and the Williams Brothers a chord ran through his body when he heard the guitars and the drums playing. He was so fascinated by the Gospel quartet sound that he went home and formed a group with his sisters. They copied the sounds and crafted it into their own. They became a children’s quartet that traveled and even recorded. One night the young Arthur had a very clear dream that they were performing on a huge stage and he was doing something that he had never done before – he was playing the guitar! When he woke up from that dream he was gifted by God with the ability to play the guitar just as he had in the dream. He recognized it as a gift from God.
From these humble beginnings, Roland has spent 35 years of his life touring, singing, playing, and writing music for some of those same artists that he saw when he walked into that Gospel concert at six years old. He has been amazingly blessed to learn side-by-side from legends like Clarence Fountain and the Blind Boys of Alabama, Lucille Pope, the late Willie Johnson, and Joe Ligon of the Mighty Clouds of Joy. These talented Gospel greats taught him the history and integrity of this style of music and sharpened his skills as a performer, writer, and singer. He also learned the history of the blues, which emanated from the church, and infused it into his traditional but unique Gospel style.
Servant leader

In addition to this professional Gospel music career, Roland gives his time, his voice, and musical platform to the community and to speak on racial intolerance and human injustice. He has chaired the foundation "Urban Future," a St. Louis organization that helps inner city youth focus on school musical dreams and college goals. He co-produced and donated his musical talent to "The Restoration Project" with five of St. Louis’ top blues artist. Thousands of dollars were raised for the foundation’s cd project.

For the past two years Roland has also spoken in Florida with Jamie Foxx and other noted celebrities after the Trayvon Martin incident and was at Ground Zero in Ferguson, MO. As a resident of St. Louis he, along with other St Louis leaders and known personalities, pleaded for calmer heads after the violence erupted. “Stepping Out Of Myself,” his new cd project, is dedicated in remembrance of the Michael Brown incident with songs like Tryna Get Ready and Refuge. These songs were inspired and came about after being in the middle of, talking to, and hearing and seeing the faces of the people at Ground Zero. Roland said, “I pray that it honors their words, their pain, and their grief as well as the hurt caused by continuing racial intolerance.”

Thurman Thornton II

Thurman Thornton II

Singing at the tender age of 3, TBII or as most know him as Thurman B. Thornton II was born in the city of St. Louis, Mo. has since matured into a strong vessel that God has placed in this world to minister to souls through song. "I come from a musical family...mostly everybody in my family could sing, so I didn't have a choice in this thing!" From sunshine bands to singing in groups, TBII always was a part of some musical entity in hopes of one day being on stages worldwide. After several attempts with groups and not really reaching anywhere, he would come to experience hardship like never before that would test his faith in God, his desire to sing and even live.

TBII suffered great loss in his life with the passing of his brother, his mother and his father from 2009-2011 and because of those deaths it caused him to go into a deep and dark depression. "I was drinking, smoking, cutting, and doing more and more damage to myself every day because of the hurt of losing people I really cared about." Losing his way, TBII made several suicide attempts and while he didn't succeed at any of them the effects took their toll on his mind and he had lost the energy to even sing. "I had given up and I told God that if you wanted this to happen then you make it happen," not realizing the power in his words a song was birthed thru this painful process and TBII began to express his pain and depression thru the only channel that he had left...music.

TBII wrote and released his first single entitled "More" independently and it gained the attention of indie label New York Connect Entertainment and its CEO Will Young. "Will loved the record and he wanted to redistribute it as well as produce a whole album, and that was the beginning of something epic for me, because I had no idea that this was going to happen." With a newfound lease on life, He and the label began working on what was to be his debut album, with production from Jay Wash, it seemed everything was working out for TBII or so he thought. After 2 years of studio work, in 2013 he released his debut project entitled "The Soul Experience EP" which featured the award-nominated single "The Definition of Love" and the song "I Worship You" and while it received some positive reviews, tensions grew at the label about the direction he wanted to go in. "Their where days that were awesome and then there were days that just were awful and I became so desperate to put an album out that I lost who I was and I became extremely unhappy." After a string of delays and struggles with the label, nothing else materialized from the project and he and the label parted ways in 2014.

"I had had enough of this business and I figured I'd just sing at church and get a regular job and live life with my soon to be wife," but for TBII, God had another plan and was about to blow his mind. In 2015, TBII released 2 singles that would bring him award nominations and more attention. The first being 'Fresh Start!" Written by TBII and produced by Vinnis "The Phenom" Bryant, Fresh Start is a song about starting over in every aspect of life. "God just used this song to remind me that starting over is not so bad when you start over with Him!" After he released the song, he immediately embarked on a year long tour in the U.S. that would prove to be majorly successful as it would give him the opportunity to open up for amazing artists such as Twinkie Clark, Dewayne Woods, Dorinda Clark Coke and share the stage with one of his favorite singers in the world r&b sensation Tweet!!! "God just keeps opening these amazing doors for me and I'm so grateful He didn't let me quit."

The next single from TBII would be a song that reflected back on the struggle God brought him out of...that song was "Save Me' featuring A.D. Mills! The powerful song showcased his struggle with depression and suicide and it pushed the envelope visually with a trailer that showed him acting out the habits he dealt with during that period of his life. "I'm not ashamed of my testimony and it’s my job to share my victory with the world and help someone breakthrough like I did!" Both songs gained major radio airplay and multiple award nominations!!!

TBII decided to take a break and focus on what was important first being his spiritual walk with Christ by dedicated his life to Christ and walking out his assigned purpose in life. The 2nd was securing his church home which is now Blow Your Trumpet Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Prophet Marcus Mickles and CoPastor Madelyn Mickles. And finally, he secured his relationship by marrying his now wife Cassandra on November 15th, 2015!!!! "I married my best friend and I'm so glad that God allowed me this chance to complete one of my greatest accomplishments in my life!"

After a much needed break, TBII returned to the studio with producer Marion Robinson IV and together they created what is now going to be his first full length project of original material. "We are not playing by anyone's rules but God and we have created a project with a message of deliverance, healing, love, soul and God all in one!" With God leading him, TBII has returned with new music in 2016 with the new lead single "Fall Into You" which was released on iTunes, Google Play and all digital retail outlets on May 26, 2016!!!! His full length album entitled "911...Save Me!!!" will be released in 2017!! "My life is a testimony of life, love, loss, death, hurt, pain, redemption, Revival, healing and deliverance and that message will preach worldwide and as long as God keeps using me for his Glory I will preach it until the end of time!" -TBII

Who is Thurman B Thornton II?
Wow, that’s a loaded question lol. I’m a Gospel/Singer that Loves God, his family and life. I’m a man that is on a journey to greatness and I’m just a chill kind of dude that is honest enough to life his life out loud.

Where are you from?
I’m from St. Louis, Mo

How would you describe your music?
The music i make is what i call “Life Soul Music.” It embodies things i have witnessed in my life and I choose to channel it through music and touch the souls and hearts of many.

How long have you been singing?
Mannnnn….whew!! I’ve been singing since i was 3 years old, and I’m 31 now so that is 28 years but i’ve been singing professionally for 10 years.

What inspires you to sing?
God, Life, Love, Pain, and triumph. Every experience i’ve had in my life pushes me to sing more because it’s my form of healing

What is it like being young and on fire for the Lord?
it is very interesting, and it has its challenges. I know most artists won’t be as honest about this, but I’m just speaking truth. I have fun and I love God with my entire being and I am honored to do what I do for His glory. It can be difficult because of life and how it goes but I continue to remember that I’m called to this and someone needs the ministry on the inside of me so it keeps me going.

What kind of advice can you give to the youth who loves God?
Just like any relationship, keep the lines of communication open with God. Talk to Him like you talk to any other person and always keep Him first in everything that way you will never go wrong. Live life on purpose and be a living example of how God good is through your daily living.

What are some advice would you give to new artist?
Be consistent and always stick up for you work. I think a lot of artist don’t speak up for themselves or their work and that’s how they get lost in the field. Never let anyone tell you that you are not good enough because if GOD gave it to you then no one can tell you how to use the gift He gave you. Lastly, don’t rush your project because their are over 7 billion people in the world and everybody doesn’t know that you releases a record yet so I always advise new artists to work their records until the life of the project has ended. Don’t rush to the next project just because you may not get the immediate attention you were looking for, you must continue to work the record and push it worldwide for the success you desire.

Do you consider music as a passion and why?
oh most definitely, music is my life. I was raised with it and it just in me and I feel the most complete when I’m creating or performing music. In many ways, it is the best way for me to communicate because what i can’t sometimes say verbally song can do for me. Very powerful and very much needed.

What does the newness of God means to you?
To experience God everyday in a new and special way is always a blessing and I appreciate life more because of my relationship with Him. So the newness of God means everything to me because it means I will encounter Him in a different way.

Who writes your songs?
For this album i wrote and my producer Marion Robinson IV wrote the other half and the songs God has allowed us to craft for this album are completely amazing.

How important is a prayer life to you?
I can’t function without prayer, It is literally how I live my life. It is my daily goal to talk to communicate with God so that i can conquer anything.

Who inspires you to sing?
My wife inspires me a lot probably more than she may think because of her love for me and continuous support for me pushes me to go harder. Knowing that my voice touches someone in their soul that makes them wanna experience or encounter God more really inspires me to keep singing and i just love to sing.

Can you describe the power of prayer?
All throughout the bible, you see the power of Prayer and how it is important that we stay in constant communication with GOD. Prayer has changed so many things in my life that i choose to maintain a consistent prayer life. I prayed so much during this recording process for the album and to see what we have created is proof that prayer works.

Do you use music to minister to those who may not know God?
Every stage i step on I make it my business to minister to the souls. I don’t limit my music or message to the 4 walls of the church, actually this album is for the streets, the ones that won’t come to church because of hurt or hypocrisy and i meet them where they are and deliver message that is God, Love and Music.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Meeting one of my favorite singers in the world Tweet and having a bond that will never be broken. Winning several awards over my career, Debuting in the top 30 on iTunes this past may with my lead single, but my greatest accomplishment is seeing the people that are blessed by my ministry and are encouraged to go after their own dreams because of the work i put into mine is my greatest accomplishment because it means that God is getting the Glory out of my life.

Are you having fun with music?
I am definitely in a fun place with music and that is the dope thing about it all. While it is a serious thing for me I always remember to have fun.

What kind of legacy would you like to leave behind?
Wow, a legacy of Love and Fun!!! I want my children and their children would live in prosperity and know that I’ve given God my all and lived an unapologetic life and I left it all on the stage. That I had fun and mad sure people did the same.

Please tell us more about your new album?
Oh yea!!! So the name of my album is “911...Save Me!” and it is my testimony/message album. The album is a my story of light to darkness and back to light again. It deals with my battles with depression, suicide attempts, love, loss and redemption. Each song we have crafted for this record deals with life in some form or fashion and the process of falling and working towards getting back up. I’m excited because we wrote filter free and what we have now is an album of healing and deliverance for the world to hear.

A Talk With Angel Sessions

Who is Angel Sessions?
I am a international and national urban gospel recording artist and song writer. I am a lover of Christ who wants to do His will as He works in my heart to do of His will and good pleasure using my talent for His glory. I've been in the music industry for alittle over 20 years with so much experience and the many great things God has blessed me to do, accomplished, and continue to do along the way. I enjoy making people smile as they reflect on their lives where they stand with Christ, while listening to my songs, I want them to think of Christ and I pray may God draw many to Himself.

Where are you from?
I am originally from Louisville Ky, but I moved first to Salinas California at a early age than moved to the Bay Area in 1991.

How would you describe your music?
I describe my music as urban gospel because, my music is unique in how I write my melodies to my lyrics, having a R&B sound mixed with other sounds. My message is what I want people also to hear when they listen to my songs.

How long have you been singing?
I have been singing since I was 6 years old. I always knew I wanted to sing since I was that young. I use to listen to commercials on TV and sing along with it knowing all of the lyrics. My mom would peek into my bedroom and just stand behind the door so I couldn't see her and listen to me sing. I was very shy than and I would stop singing if I knew someone was there listening. Lol, but I grew from that fast.

What inspires you to sing?
My heavenly Father always inspires me to sing because every since I was little, I would always sing to Him. My mom was second and as I grew older, my fans. I love making people happy and music comforts alot of people especially if it speaks to your heart at a time you need to hear it most.

Do you have mentors?
My Heavenly Father is my mentor. I want to be like my Christ wants me to be like, walking in Love, and Christ is love.

Do you consider music as a passion and why?
Yes, indeed I consider music as passion for the most part because if a person is going though something, and he or she hears a song and it relates to them, it does something to them, Music is passion to me because the songs I write are about Christ, and He is very passionate to me.

How do you worship God?
I worship God though His word as His word speaks to me. I talk to God in prayer because His word tells us He loves to hear the prayers of His saints.

What is your favorite book in the Bible?
I love the whole Bible. I don't have just one favorite verse, all of it is the word of God.

Who writes your songs?
I write my songs. I've been a songwriter since I was a little girl. I love writing as much as I love singing.

Do you find difficult at times to write while in pain?
I don't find it difficult to write while I am in pain. Sometimes It comes much easier because I have so much to say, but I always pray first before I began writing my lyrics and melody arrangement. I want it to not be just any old song, but a great song.

How important is a prayer life to you?
Prayer is very important to me. This is how I talk to God and He speaks to me though His word the bible.

Who inspires you to sing?
God first inspires me to sang because I want to do it for His glory, and people from around the world because I pray may God save many before His return.

Do you have a secret place where you write your song?
Not really, most of the time, I write in my bedroom while the music is playing, I would have my head set on and just listen over and over again, and than a thought would come, so I pen it down and than grab my recorder to put it down so I can remember it.

Do you use music to minister to those who may not know God?
Yes I do.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
Some of my greatest accomplishments is winning 3 awards, being nominated 9 times for my music. Having now social media to spread my music faster around the world to reach the people of all nation with my music. After 20 years and still doing this is a great accomplishment for me to because there are many who have given up after a while if they don't see a return, and I know its not always about the money, Lord willing happen later, but patients and never giving up though the help of God almighty, He has kelp me going.

Are you having fun with music?
I love music! I have fun with it all the time because if a person takes everything they do serious, the fun leaves, and soon you will lose hope because it becomes just work. It is work but you have to enjoy what you do, you have to have fun with what you do and let God's will be done because His will, will be done.

What kind of legacy would you like to leave behind?

Anthony Avery

Bio
Anthony Avery age 27 is an independent gospel and inspirational artist based out of Baltimore,MD. He considers his sound a Gospel and neo soul fusion of sorts with many other styles influencing him. Music has been his passion since the age of 10 and his goal is to reach people with "life music" using the tagline "Music without limits" to embody what he feels is the real gift of music. With influences from gospel,neo-soul to pop and rock Anthony brings a truly Eclectic sound to his music. Anthony's goal is not to reach those who are already within the church or grounded in their Christianity. But to reach the masses who are outside of the "Church world" those who love God but may not meet the stereotypical criteria of a Christian. He hopes to show that God can truly move anywhere at anytime and for anyone.

A Talk With Anthony Avery

Who is Anthony Avery
Well I am just a pretty normal guy honestly, I am 27, enjoy a lot of different passions my major two being music and teaching. I tend to be a pretty open minded and friendly person as well. I love interacting with all different types of people and backgrounds and just having fun and enjoying life!

Where are you from?
Well I currently live in Baltimore,MD. And i’m original from Ft. Washington,MD by way of Albuquerque,NM where I grew up.

Who writes your songs?
I write majority of my own songs and with the help of my lead musician Joseph Sothern created all the music. I never considered myself much of a lyricist however, I simply just write as if I was speaking to someone. It makes all of my songs very personal for me no matter what type of sound it has. I do have one amazing song Praise Him In The Sunshine written and arranged by Gospel Artist Marcina Garner.

Do you consider music as your passion and if so, how do you feel in knowing you are waking up with a purpose? Yes, It is a passion, calling and a gift. I wake up everyday grateful that I can dedicate so much of my life to something I truly love to do.

How long have you been singing?
Well, I have always sung just to do so. But I seriously starting singing and studying music at the age of 10 at school when I joined my concert choir. Funnily enough I didn’t start singing gospel music seriously until I was around 16.

What is ministry to you
Ministry is about giving what God has blessed you with back to his people in an effort to draw more closer to his love. It comes with added responsibility than simply entertaining. Specifically with music we have an anointing which allow us to create and inviting atmosphere for the spirit of God to connect with people in a unique and personal way.

Who inspires you?
Musically my biggest inspiration is Kirk Franklin he is my favorite gospel artist of all time and I would love to work with him. Other inspirations are Mali Music,Tonex, J Moss, and of course some of the greats like Richard Smallwood and Kurt Carr. Personally my biggest inspiration in my mother who is simply amazing at all that she does.

Who are some of your mentors? I have been fortunate to have some amazing mentors including gospel recording artist Brent Jones, original Richard Smallwood singer Wesley Boyd,Pastor Alvin Dockett and Earnest Pugh all really helped me growing up to embrace God as a teen when I was growing up in Fort Washington,MD. They all really helped me grow spiritually and musically.

We are facing challenging as black people?
I think we are facing very challenging times as a people right now. I believe However, I do believe that every testimony requires a test. While we as a people are seeing ourselves pushed to the brink of sanity with all the violence and mistreatment facing us. We still have the power to endure and fight through these sad times to our greater. We also, have to learn to come together in unity in a way which as a people we have not been able to before. Our ancestors were originally manipulated by being turned against one another and taught to hate within versus outward. It still something we struggle with to this day but there is power in numbers and we have more influence than we realize.

Do you have a favorite book in the bible, if so why?
Well I think for me the book of psalms just as a musician have always spoken to me. Each song in that book are really just touching passages of inspiration and encouragement. One day I’d love to record many of my favorite psalms as I believe a lot of the newer generations spends so much time focused on creating a new sound that we forget to honor our psalms and traditional hymn. Progression and change is wonderful but i’ll never let go of the foundation.

What are some of your ways of staying in commune with the Lord?
Well i’m a little unique in the sense that when I commune with the Lord is more like spending time with your best friend. Sometimes it’s planned and sometimes you’re driving down the road to work and a song, something on a billboard sign or a word or phrase that I hear just become a deeper conversation and point of reflection with him. It’s hard to distinguish one or two things I do because really, I’m always in that place with him be it through my work, prayer, church, reading, etc. I really believe that all I do is for him so i’m always connected spiritually to him.

Do you use singing as a tool to minister to others?
Oh absolutely! That’s why I still continue to use my gift to sing for more than just gospel based programs. I sing for youth events, musicals, graduations, open mics and more. Even when singing an inspirational song that may not be technically gospel the power of ministry in that you can reach others in many different ways. I sing anywhere God would place me and that has given me some memorable moments in my walk.

What legacy would you like to leave?
I would like to leave a legacy of love and acceptance. In a day and age where many in the gospel world spend so much time spreading hate and using their gift to place themselves on a pedestal or try to popularize this idea that the saved are somehow better than the lost. I strive to be like Jesus and show all people the same love, kindness, acceptance and compassion I would look for myself. I truly pray that my ministry is something that speaks to everyone from the church born and raised to christian, to the newly saved, to those who are non-believers and question him. My music is not for simply one archetype of christian. It is for all that they might come and see about our lord and savior.

What last comment can you give to the lost people who doesn’t have a relationship with God? I would say that though you feel lost please know that God still has his eyes fixed on you and his arms are safely wrapping you in a warm embrace. Don’t be discouraged that you may be lacking a relationship with God we have all literally been there. Any person who has a relationship with God at one point did not so don’t feel like you are out of place or wrong for your feeling. God wants you to come to him when you are ready that why he forgives all of our sins even the one’s we aren’t aware of. Just do yourself a favor and rather than putting out so much energy fighting him just accept him and allow yourself to trust and have faith. Faith is the hardest thing to have because we often don’t have confirmation of that faith until after the storm. But remember that is ok because love is patient, kind and endures all things. Let love lead you back to the Lord you’ll find he was there waiting for you the entire time.

God Squad

Bio

There are 3 of us in the squad. Minister Marlowe ( The Messenger ), Brother Keith ( Kardiac), and Pastor Anthony (Skool). We are three different brothers, who took three different paths, to get to the same location, which is Christ! Our ministry is very raw. We are here to spread the realness of our father. We don't sugar coat anything. We live in a world where our youth are considered our lost generation, mainly because the word of God has faded away. We are bringing it back to the front row. Our plans for our music ministry are very simple. We want to get placed on a platform where the world will be able to hear God's word.

A Talk With The GodSquad

Q: How long have you all been performing?
A: We've been rapping individually for years. Collectively for a little over a year.

Q: What inspires you all?
A: Seeing brothers & sisters still lost in the world inspires us!

Q: Who writes your songs?
A: It varies, any one of us can come up with a song idea & it will more than likely be done.

Q: Do you feel your purpose is performing and why?
A: Our purpose is music. It is simply a bridge for us to reach souls. To God be the glory!

A: Probably the book of Proverbs. It contains plenty of knowledge & wisdom, which is extremely useful in this day & age.

Q: What male figure in the bible best describes you or your brothers?
A: Paul! We all have a past. Similar to Paul, we used to persecute the church. Not with our actions as he did, but with our thoughts. We thought of the body of Christ as a place full of judgment & materialistic people, instead of a place of peace & salvation! God thought we were worth saving! Hallelujah!

Q: What does worship mean to you?
A: Worship is an intimate moment with God. That moment is full of peace, happiness, & tears of joy!

Q: Where are you from?
A: We hail from Saint Louis Missouri.

A:This group from St. Louis called God Squad. Those guys are legit! lol

Q: How did you get into music?
A: We have something to say! Music is a safe & effective outlet!

Q: What is virtue to you?
A: Virtue is truly walking, talking, & living as a child of the most high God!

Feature Artist Arthur Roland

"My life is a testimony of life, love, loss, death, hurt, pain, redemption, Revival, healing and deliverance and that message will preach worldwide and as long as God keeps using me for his Glory I will preach it until the end of time!" -TBII

it is very interesting, and it has its challenges.

Q: Since it is three of you all, please introduce yourselves?
A: Skool, The Messenger, & Kardiac are the members of God Squad

Q: How long have you all been performing?
A: We've been rapping individually for years. Collectively for a little over a year.

Q: What inspires you all?
A: Seeing brothers & sisters still lost in the world inspires us!

Q: Who writes your songs?
A: It varies, any one of us can come up with a song idea & it will more than likely be done.

Q: Do you feel your purpose is performing and why?
A: Our purpose is music. It is simply a bridge for us to reach souls. To God be the glory!

Q: Do you minister to others through your music?
A: Yes, a lot of people are influenced through music. We want to give them a positive influence that could potentially save them! To God be the glory!

Q: What is your favorite book in the bible and why?

Q: Do you have a new project?
A: We currently have our self-titled EP available. Finishing up our debut album, & working on a mix tape as well.

A: Godsquad7.com

Q: What is your favorite song on your new project?
A: It's called 'Nothing'. It's highly anointed & pretty awesome!

A: By getting in that prayer closet. Really talking & praying to the Lord as if He were physically right beside us!

Q: Who are you favorites group or singer of all times?
A:This group from St. Louis called God Squad. Those guys are legit! lol

Q: How did you get into music?
A: We have something to say! Music is a safe & effective outlet!

Q: What is virtue to you?
A: Virtue is truly walking, talking, & living as a child of the most high God!

Q: What kind of legacy are you creating with your music?
A: God's legacy! We do this for Him, not us!

Q: If someone would like to book you for an event how can they get in touch with you?

A: Treating the lives we've given with reverence & respect, knowing that this life is not our own!

A: Imagine having a lengthy police record. Then imagine having that record wiped clean with no time served & for FREE! That is what it's like starting over with Jesus!

Many of our Lords Words have been portrayed by man as clichés and superficial, one dimensional meanings. In the Christian family, we regurgitate most of what we've heard without an intimate, detailed study of that particular thing. Feature Artist Arthur Roland

Q: What male figure in the bible best describes you or your brothers?

We thought of the body of Christ as a place full of judgment & materialistic people, instead of a place of peace & salvation! God thought we were worth saving! Hallelujah!

Q: What does worship mean to you?
A: Worship is an intimate moment with God. That moment is full of peace, happiness, & tears of joy!

A:This group from St. Louis called God Squad. Those guys are legit! lol

Q: How did you get into music?
A: We have something to say! Music is a safe & effective outlet!

"My life is a testimony of life, love, loss, death, hurt, pain, redemption, Revival, healing and deliverance and that message will preach worldwide and as long as God keeps using me for his Glory I will preach it until the end of time!" -TBII

it is very interesting, and it has its challenges.

Don’t rush to the next project just because you may not get the immediate attention you were looking for, you must continue to work the record and push it worldwide for the success you desire.

oh most definitely, music is my life. I was raised with it and it just in me and I feel the most complete when I’m creating or performing music.

I strive to be like Jesus and show all people the same love, kindness, acceptance and compassion I would look for myself. I truly pray that my ministry is something that speaks to everyone from the church born and raised to christian, to the newly saved, to those who are non-believers and question him.

We don't sugar coat anything. We live in a world where our youth are considered our lost generation, mainly because the word of God has faded away. We are bringing it back to the front row. The greatest challenge for the human mind is how to have unwavering belief in that which cannot be proven. As humans we seek to find the empirical evidence in everything. What we fail to realize is that everything we know can be questioned with the same logic.

I have been singing since I was 6 years old. I always knew I wanted to sing since I was that young. I use to listen to commercials on TV and sing along with it knowing all of the lyrics.

I love the whole Bible. I don't have just one favorite verse, all of it is the word of God.

I write my songs. I've been a songwriter since I was a little girl. I love writing as much as I love singing.

Do you find difficult at times to write while in pain?
