The Water of Uncertainty

The greatest challenge for the human mind is how to have unwavering belief in that which cannot be proven. As humans we seek to find the empirical evidence in everything. What we fail to realize is that everything we know can be questioned with the same logic.

Men

Ye Have Not, Because Ye Ask Not

Many of our Lords Words have been portrayed by man as clichés and superficial, one dimensional meanings. In the Christian family, we regurgitate most of what we've heard without an intimate, detailed study of that particular thing. If it rolls off the tongue well, then it must be supreme Truth and the sanctuary goes wild (in my sports announcers’ voice).

What is the name of your company?
Organics Nail & Beauty Bar, LLC

What is your company’s vision?
Organics Nail & Beauty Bar strives to provide an exclusive nail care and beauty experience while empowering self-expression and artistry. To continuously seek healthier alternatives to the traditional practices and to do so with the highest degree of customer service in a professional environment.

How long have you been in business?
Organics Nail & Beauty Bar is a start business in the stages of securing financing with a target roll out date of Jan 2018.

What is your purpose?
The plan is to open Organics Nail & Beauty Bar as a consumer health-conscious, alternative salon that provides an exclusive nail care and beauty experience using specialized techniques and products to decrease its client’s exposure to carcinogens. We will empower self-expression and creativity, while aiming to improve the self-esteem and quality of life of everyone we encounter and especially of those who have undergone life altering transitions, such as cancer radiation treatments, diabetes (nail care), and victims of domestic violence, etc; by providing a safer alternative to nail care and beauty regimens.

How do you serve your community?
Organics Nail & Beauty Bar is an exclusive stage for Manicurists, Make-up artists and Health Enthusiasts who have a desire to touch the lives of individuals in ways that enhances self-esteem and quality of life. We provide nail care and beauty services using products which are more natural, organic, customer friendly, socially responsible, and safer than their alternatives. Organics Nail & Beauty Bar will continuously seek to provide services using consumer health-conscious products and equipment for clients who choose a more-natural approach to their aesthetic beauty needs. Organics Nail & Beauty Bar recognizes the increasing trends of nail care, make up applications and other beauty needs; therefore, we offer an exclusive enhancing experience using more natural, organic and vegan products and to do so with the highest degree of customer service in a professional environment

What are some of your core values?
1.Spirituality –understanding that there is a higher being and that all things are possible
2.Family-have a support system that is founded on love and togetherness
3.Legacy-creating and leaving a mark in this world that continues to impact others when I’m gone
4.Compassion- understanding, patience, endurance, love
5.Loyalty- Being true to myself first, then being what I say and demanding the same in return

Who are some of your demographic areas?
Organics has identified the Central West End (CWE) as a desired centralized location. We believe this location will be a prime opportunity to partner with the area healthcare providers who services customers seeking a healthier approach to personal nail care and beauty enhancements. The Siteman Cancer Center and the Center for Advanced Medicine has been recognized in the top 50 organizations worldwide for their efforts in the treatment of cancer and diabetes. The area has also undergone a period of revitalization with the opening of Ikea, and multiple new small businesses, retail establishments, restaurants and the expansion of the Cortex Innovation Community.

Do you find it difficult at times to reach out to your community?
I don’t believe the term “difficult” is the factor, I think encouraging people to be receptive has been challenging or rather convincing people to change, the resistance to really take advantage of their options.

How does your Beauty Salon/Nail Salon differ from the rest?
During our research, we found only a few labeled “Beauty Bars” located in the St. Louis area that may be considered competitors. These businesses have a structure that is outside of what Organics Nails & Beauty Bar offers; however, are considered competition as they offer Manicure, Pedicure Services along with Makeup Applications, Brow and Lash Services. Many of these businesses have been in business for some time and have established a following. We believe the niche that Organics Nail & Beauty Bar offers will generate a large following.

How would your organization change the game when comparing to your competitors?
Organics Nail & Beauty Bar will overcome the strengths of the competitor by marketing to the Business model and the Niche that makes Organics Nail & Beauty Bar what the community is missing, we will cater to those health conscientious consumers that are looking for a salon that offers a more natural approach to nail care services and make up applications.
I will use my experience in the health care industry and years of research of cancer, diabetes an alternative health methods to build a clientele that are waiting for a professional, customer service orientated and health savvy culture.

Who inspired you to start this unique venture?
I have a few inspirations; my mother was an inspiration because she has battled and won the fight with Breast Cancer. I witnessed my mother however, not have the ability to enjoy the simple pleasures of the nail salon because she could be exposed to the harsh chemicals used. My personal passion for empowering people and having an impact on those I encounter is key to my personal success. I am fulfilled through my contributions to others.

How can someone reach out to help your organization?
I welcome the support of everyone who would like to help make Organics Nail & Beauty Bar an asset to the community. They can donate to support the startup cost by going the GoFundMe page by searching my campaign “A Haven for Survivors” or they may follow the link: gf.me/u/bf3p9q or https://www.gofundme.com/u2ypx-a-haven-for-survivors

What are some of your five year plans?
My five year plans include continuing to build clientele in the community by educating customers about their choices to enjoy the benefits of nail care through healthier alternatives, to possibly expand Organics Nail & Beauty Bar’s offerings, and to secure a second location within the STL Metropolitan area.

Do you find it difficult reaching your audience?
It’s been difficulty getting people to just support. There seems to be a lack of community support for individuals trying to branch out into Entrepreneurship. I think it’s important to understand that each of us has a unique talent and that together we can grow an empire for our families and our community. It’s not a competition. I cannot offer what the next Beauty Bar offers and vis versa. If we look at supporting each other, we can really see how our unity creates power.

What would you like to see your organization become better in doing?
I would like to see my organization become better at positioning ourselves in the community through social responsibility. This is important because it allows us to connect, to educate and change the mindset that what they see is what they get, there are options and they have the right to spend their money and time making healthier choices.

How do you incorporate your mission with the public?
I plan to incorporate my mission with the public by continuing to network, committing to social responsibility, providing the best services and partnering with other agencies.

What kind of legacy would you like to leave behind?
My legacy includes empowerment.
I want to inspire people, I want someone to say because of you I did not give up… Unknown

The college students are to assist as mentors and tutors to provide guidance and knowledge deriving from their own experience with similar issues. Girl Code is inspired by the misconstrued expectations of women in areas of body image, behavior, and mannerisms as provided by the media. We seek to deconstruct these expectations while promoting individuality, self-respect, and the overall standard of success. Girl Code is unlike other mentoring programs due to the passion and level of experience provided by our mentors. As college students who are also in a transitional phase, they are familiar with the issues that concern Girl Code participants. The program relies on a sense vulnerability and openness that our mentors possess. The level of familiarity allows the mentor to approach their role as a friend and not a dictator. Youth
